The building still exists and can be found at its original address today. Built in the 17th century, Papestraat No. 15 is now a municipal monument. Original 17th-century details and adjustments dating from the 19the century can still be found in its interior. The current shop front dates from around 1940.

Stam
Stam was an artists’ supply shop owned by Allegonda Johanna Stam-Liernur, who was the widow of wood engraver Willem Hendrik Stam (d. 1874). At this shop, located at Papestraat 15 in The Hague, Vincent bought his drawing paper (his preferred type was called Ingres). He probably frequented Stam for other supplies as well. That he could not always pay everything on time is shown by the fact that he was in debt to Stam-Liernur in 1883.
